Rapid diagnostic tests
RDTs detect these malaria antigens in a person’s blood. If malaria antigens are present, the person will test positive. If malaria antigens are not present, the person will test negative. Different types of RDTs detect different antigens.
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test
HCG is done to measure the amount of the hormone hCG in blood or urine to see if a woman is pregnant. HCG may also be measured to see if cancer of the ovaries or testicles is present.
